Geodesic Dome

They are semi-spherical structures that are easy to assemble, extremely light, and resistant. They became popular during the 1940s through the projects and experiments of Buckminster Fuller, who sought, through studies of nature, to find the most efficient structures. His studies of radiolaria are famous.
